Edward J. Carpenter

Mr. Carpenter is Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Carpenter & Company. He is a Managing Member of the General Partner for the Carpenter Community BancFund and chairs the BancFund Investment and Governance Committee.

Since the Firm’s inception in 1974, he has led Carpenter & Company as financial advisor and consultant in hundreds of bank assignments. Mr. Carpenter has directed the firm as it has developed its financial institutions practice, its asset management services and its key strategic relationships.

Mr. Carpenter is a member of the World Presidents Organization and has chaired numerous YPO/WPO seminars on banking, public policy and private sector issues. Mr. Carpenter is a member of the board of trustees for Loyola Marymount University and the International Medical Corps. He served on the board of directors of Continental Graphics, RB Furniture and Sealy Mattress. Mr. Carpenter is the past Chair of the California Institute, Vice Chair of the California Statewide University Foundation and a director of the Orange County Performing Arts Center.

Mr. Carpenter has served as a member of legislative review committees for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in Washington, D.C., and has served on the California Department of Corporation’s Industrial Bank Advisory Board and the California State Banking Department’s Advisory Board. He served as Chair of the California Financial Task Force to Review and Revise Bank Regulation. Mr. Carpenter has served on the board of directors for numerous banks located throughout the nation. Mr. Carpenter has made numerous presentations on the banking industry for a number of professional organizations, including the California Bankers Association, the Western Independent Bankers, the American Bankers Association, the Young Presidents Organization, the World Presidents Organization and the National Association of Certified Financial Planners.

Mr. Carpenter received his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Loyola University, Los Angeles, and his Masters in Business Administration from California State University, Long Beach. He began his career at the Los Angeles headquarters of Security Pacific National Bank, then the nation’s seventh largest commercial bank, where he specialized in strategic planning and branch expansion.
